Inspired by the clean lines, balance, and tranquility found in minimalist architecture, this design is a breathtaking homage to simple shape and form.
As with most of our table designs, the Architect’s Table is made to order and to size in increments of 4"(100mm). This design scales up and down well, and looks great as an extra large boardroom table or as a smaller dining table. When made above 55" (1400mm) wide (or if access to the premises is tricky) this design can be made in two or three parts, to be assembled on site. The expressed join in the base and top adds a nice detail, while retaining the quiet nature of this prominent piece.
The overhang on this design is larger than on many of our other pieces, and this requires the table to be made larger than normal (especially in the smaller sizes). However, you can easily increase the seating arrangements for special occasions by placing more chairs around the table.
This design is available in two timber thickness options, 1.75" (44mm) and 2.75" (70mm) thick. We can also make this design with custom hollow legs for cable reticulation - handy for boardroom tables and work spaces. Kindly note that the Architect’s Table is suitable for indoor use only. For the 2.75" thick version the timber options are Iroko and French Oak only.

In order to retain the natural finish of the timber we keep the number of protective coats to a minimum. Although this does add to the aesthetic appeal of the product, highlighting the natural qualities of solid wood, it does mean that the finish is not impervious to damage and staining. However, if you follow the instructions laid out below, it should be sufficient for normal use.
After use, wipe down the wood surfaces with a slightly damp cloth to preserve and protect the wood coating. Dry with another cloth if a lot of water remains. Do not expose these products for any extent of time to pools of water. If the products get wet you should dry them off as soon as possible.
If exposed to wine, vinegar and oils / oily food for an extended period of time the wood will stain. To avoid stains, wipe up spills directly with a slightly damp cloth and then dry. Spills should not be left overnight as they will sink in and mark.
Placing hot items on the wood may result in damage or burning. We recommend that you use coasters, and protect the table tops from hot dishes.
We do not recommend that you place indoor furniture outdoors. Outdoor furniture is specially designed to be able to withstand the dramatic temperature changes and moisture in the air. Avoid placing timber furniture items in full sun as exposure to sun/uV causes yellowing and light surface cracks.
Heavily air-conditioned environments require the use of a humidifier to restore the natural humidity of the air, as dry air will result in cracking / warping of the timber.
